ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to evaluate Conflict of principals and staff relationship as it affects secondary school administration in Ihiala primary school zone in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Specifically, the study aims to assess the causes of conflicts between principals and staff in secondary school in Ihiala primary school zone, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, examine the extent at which conflicts between principal and staff personnel affects secondary school administration in Ihiala primary school zone, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State and find out the extent at which conflicts between principals and staff affects curriculum implementation in secondary school in Ihiala primary school zone, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 141 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that the extent at which conflicts between principal and staff personnel affects secondary school administration in Ihiala primary schools zone is high. The study thereby recommend that Principals should seek to address interpersonal conflicts before they fester or develop into serious problems. Also, principals must, through leadership practices, enable the facilitation of teachers’ efficacy, cognitive development, career development, collegiality, inclusivity, growth and celebrate cultural diversity, re-examine evaluation and reward systems to reflect contemporary changes in secondary schools and ensure that these systems are meeting the needs of the staff and students.
